Gwangju Office of Education Conducts School Meal Management Training for Food Poisoning Prevention and Climate Crisis Response
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 15th that it will conduct a real-time online training session on "School Meal Operation Education for Food Poisoning Prevention and Climate Crisis Response" for 810 participants, including kindergarten principals, elementary, middle, and high school principals, nutrition teachers, and dietitians in the district on the 16th.
This training will cover topics such as ▲ food poisoning prevention in school meals for the new semester ▲ school meal operation plans in the era of the climate crisis.
In particular, the content is designed to encourage green meal practices, such as shifting food choices among school members, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The Office of Education has designated "Low-Carbon Menu Day once a month" this year to reduce carbon emissions in school meals.
It also decided to practice healthy green eating habits through the use of "local food and Non-GMO ingredients."
