[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has installed 'Conscience Mirrors' in the Mangwoo 3-dong area to eradicate illegal dumping of garbage.
The district installed conscience mirrors at 10 habitual dumping sites such as utility poles and exterior walls so that illegal dumpers can voluntarily refrain from dumping by seeing their own reflection in the mirror.
In the future, the local community leaders will continuously manage the area to prevent illegal dumping.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "I hope that the installation of these conscience mirrors will help establish a proper culture of household waste disposal," adding, "Following the philosophy that change begins in a clean environment, we will create a cleaning culture together with residents."
