On the 13th, Governor Won wrote on his SNS, "I heard that former leader Sim is coming to Jeju to oppose Jeju Second Airport," adding, "I hope she does not incite the residents with only partial stories."
He stated, "Jeju Second Airport is a 30-year-long cherished project for Jeju and a national policy task that must be accomplished for the safety of the people," and proposed a public one-on-one debate. Former leader Sim plans to hold a press conference on the cancellation of the Second Airport in front of Jeju Provincial Office on the afternoon of the 15th.
In response, the Justice Party Jeju Provincial Party issued a statement titled "Governor Won Hee-ryong should stop meddling in central politics and communicate with Jeju residents first," expressing "shock at Governor Won's ignorance and rudeness."
