Bucheon City to Create Smart Senior Centers... Based on ICT Video Platform and IoT Healthcare
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 12th that it has been finally selected for the Ministry of Science and ICT's 'Smart Senior Center Construction Project' contest.
The Ministry of Science and ICT held a contest for local governments nationwide to establish smart senior centers that enhance the 'community care' function by providing customized services using smart devices and intelligent information technology.
Bucheon City proposed a smart senior center construction model involving various public and private participants such as the Public Health Center (100-Year Health Room), Administrative Welfare Center, Bucheon Branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association, Senior Welfare Center, and Bucheon Medical Welfare Social Cooperative.
In particular, it received high marks for addressing service blind spots caused by COVID-19 through non-face-to-face leisure and welfare services focused on service standardization and efficiency, smart health management services, and indoor smart farms.
The city plans to receive 920 million KRW in national funding to transform a total of 45 senior centers, including 12 key senior centers, into smart senior centers based on ICT video platforms and IoT healthcare.
