Chungnam, Naepo New Town Hongseong and Yesan Participate in 'Establishment of Joint Management Organization'
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province, together with Hongseong County and Yesan County, is establishing the ‘Naepo New Town Joint Management Organization’ to manage major facilities.
According to the province on the 12th, the joint management organization will be responsible for jointly managing public facilities in the Naepo New Town area, such as the automatic garbage collection facility, sewage treatment plant, and traffic signal system, which currently have divided management and ownership.
The scope, scale, and form of the organization will be determined through consultation with Hongseong and Yesan counties in the first half of this year, with the joint management organization aiming for an official launch next year.
Currently, Naepo New Town has been developed on a site of 9,951,729㎡ (Hongseong 6,269,590㎡, Yesan 3,682,139㎡) along the boundary of Hongseong and Yesan since it was designated as a new town development zone for the relocation of the Chungnam Provincial Government Office in 2007.
However, since the administrative districts are divided between Hongseong and Yesan, there have been inconveniences such as the inability to transfer buses between regions within the same living area and the use of local currency being determined by administrative district, increasing residents’ inconvenience.
The joint management organization is being formed to resolve these inconveniences for residents and to minimize budget waste caused by divided administrative authority.
