On the 12th, CJ Logistics announced that it signed a "Field Training and Employment Support Agreement for Students with Disabilities in the Logistics Industry" with the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities, the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, and SL Logistics Co., Ltd. The four organizations will establish an organic cooperation system to promote practical and systematic support to expand sustainable jobs for people with disabilities in the logistics industry.
The main goal of this four-party agreement is to create a systematic vocational training system for students with disabilities in the Incheon area to secure employment in the logistics industry and to create stable jobs. First, a company-linked training system will be operated, allowing students with disabilities to complete part of their curriculum through practical training at CJ Logistics' logistics sites.
Starting next month, about 30 third-year high school and specialized course students in the Incheon area will be selected to undergo field training on various logistics terminal tasks and parcel delivery operations. After the training, students will be employed based on their preferences and evaluation results.
CJ Logistics will provide stable parcel volumes based on advanced logistics infrastructure and supply the necessary locations and administrative personnel for field training. SL Logistics Co., Ltd., a CJ Logistics delivery branch recognized as a standard workplace for persons with disabilities, will operate the field training program and support future employment. The Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities will focus on vocational training by providing job evaluations and assigning job instructors, while the Incheon Office of Education will be responsible for recruiting and selecting participating students.
Since July last year, CJ Logistics has been operating the last-mile service "Blue Delivery," where parcels transported to apartment complex hubs are delivered to each household by delivery workers with disabilities. The company plans to expand the Blue Delivery business, which provides quality jobs for people with disabilities, based on this agreement.
