Regulations Harassing Private Companies: Busan City Takes Action to Find Solutions
Expanding the 'On-site Regulatory Reporting Center' to Resolve Difficulties and Inconveniences
City Hall, Construction Corporations, Public Corporations, and Investment Institutions... Three Industrial Complexes Visited Three Times a Month
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan Metropolitan City (Acting Mayor Lee Byung-jin) is expanding the operation of the ‘Visiting On-site Regulation Reporting Center,’ which visits sites to improve difficulties faced by private companies caused by various regulations such as laws and ordinances.
The ‘Visiting On-site Regulation Reporting Center’ has been operated by Busan City since 2015. The city directly visits sites to identify regulations through interviews and proposes and negotiates with central government ministries to resolve difficulties by amending laws, changing operational guidelines, and securing new authoritative interpretations.
Starting this year, the scope of regulation identification will be expanded not only to private companies but also to departments within Busan City Hall, public corporations and foundations, and related companies of investment and contribution institutions.
▲ Regular operation of on-site reporting centers three times a month at three industrial complexes ▲ Operation of consultation booths at industry-related exhibitions and event venues ▲ In addition to individual company visits, regulations will be identified and improved targeting departments, bureaus, and headquarters within City Hall, as well as public corporations, foundations, and related companies of investment and contribution institutions in Busan.
