[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] On the 11th, Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced that it will hold a contest to support activity expenses for reading clubs to revitalize reading clubs, which form the foundation for making reading culture a part of daily life.
The support target is reading clubs registered in Gimhae City, consisting of at least five adults, and they must hold regular meetings at least once a month.
Currently, 97 reading clubs are registered, and new reading clubs must register by the 16th to apply for the contest.
Applications must be submitted by filling out documents such as the application form and operation plan, and sent via email to the person in charge at Jangyu Library from the 17th until 6 p.m. on the 25th.
Eighteen clubs will be selected and supported with 300,000 KRW each. The support funds can only be used for purchasing books for reading activities, instructor fees, purchasing supplies, refreshments, printing costs, and field trip or experiential activity expenses.
After document screening and review by the local subsidy review committee, the funds are expected to be paid in May.
