On the 10th, Professor Seo revealed this fact on his Facebook, stating, "As someone who has consistently placed advertisements about the Japanese military 'comfort women' issue in globally influential media such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, and at world-famous tourist spots like New York Times Square, I have begun the first response to this controversy."

In the email, Professor Seo reminded them, "In 2007, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously adopted Resolution H.R.121, which officially and clearly demands acknowledgment, apology, and historical responsibility from the Japanese government regarding the forced mobilization of comfort women by the Japanese military during World War II."
He emphasized, "The U.S. Department of State has once again stated its position on this controversy, saying, 'As the United States has stated several times, the sexual trafficking of women by the Japanese military during World War II was a heinous human rights violation.'"
Furthermore, Professor Seo urged, "I hope that this incident will serve as an opportunity for the Japanese government to sincerely apologize and compensate the victims of the Japanese military 'comfort women' worldwide, and that the U.S. political community will once again unite their efforts."
