Hyundai Motor·Kia and Hankook Tire Collaborate on Data Utilization Service Development

On the 11th, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia announced that they signed a "Mutual Cooperation Agreement (MOU) for Data-Based Service Development" with Hankook Tire through a non-face-to-face business agreement ceremony.
Both parties will establish a system for mutual exchange of data and technology necessary to provide mobility services related to car life, such as vehicle operation and vehicle management, and will cooperate in various ways including service improvement and advancement, and new business creation.
They plan to start cooperation by mutually sharing Hyundai Motor Company and Kia's vehicle data open platforms and connected car data, and Hankook Tire's tire-related data and tire condition measurement technology to jointly develop a solution that precisely measures and predicts tire wear levels and condition changes.
In addition, they will promote the development of tire management services such as customized tire replacement timing notifications for each vehicle and driver by analyzing and processing the shared and collected data more precisely. Furthermore, they plan to measure the impact of tire wear and condition changes on vehicle performance, fuel efficiency, and safety to enable multifaceted future applications.
Through this, the company expects that it will be possible to develop services supporting overall vehicle operation and management, such as providing driving information for improved fuel efficiency and safe driving, as well as various notification services, and to discover new business models.
Previously, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia opened vehicle data open platforms Hyundai Developers, KIA Developers, and Genesis Developers, providing vehicle information to partners to develop customer service products.
