‘Yangcheon-gu Office Opening and Mokdong New Town Apartment Development’ Online Exhibition
Yangcheon-gu Wraps Up 'Mokdong New Town Apartment Development Through Records' Exhibition Held Until Last Year-End, Prepares Online Exhibition
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) has concluded the exhibition "Development of Mokdong New Town Apartments through Records," which was held until the end of last year, and is preparing an online exhibition.
Last year, the district established an archival storage room in the basement of the Yangcheon Cultural Center to systematically and professionally manage and preserve records scattered across various departments that were at risk of damage.
In this newly established archival storage, the district plans to hold exhibitions every year using preserved records on various themes.
The first exhibition held in July last year displayed materials ranging from the background of the Mokdong New Town apartment development, important project plans and administrative records related to it, to photos of the apartment construction process and guides for prospective tenants.
A newspaper scrapbook documenting the recovery of popularity of Mokdong Apartments, which initially had unsold units, remained a vivid record and attracted great interest from visiting residents.
To accommodate residents who were unable to visit the exhibition hall due to COVID-19, the district produced a video featuring 70 exhibition records and various photographic materials, uploaded it to the district office's official YouTube channel, Yangcheon TV, making it accessible online.
