Gwangju Seobu Fire Station Operates 'Future Firefighter Experience Classroom'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Western Fire Station (Chief Lee Cheontaek) announced on the 10th that it will operate the 'Future Firefighter Experience Classroom.'
This initiative was promoted to cultivate safety awareness during adolescence, support career planning, spread safety culture, and foster future firefighters.
Considering the COVID-19 situation, the program will be conducted either by dispatching instructors to the target schools or by having students visit the fire station until November.
The scope of education targets has been expanded from 15 middle schools in the Seo-gu area to 55 schools including elementary, middle, and high schools.
The main educational contents include ▲ introduction to the firefighter's mission and firefighting spirit ▲ career exploration activities such as guidance on firefighting-related careers and fire station duties ▲ job experience activities by category such as fire, rescue, emergency medical services, and daily safety.
Applications for education can be made by accessing the Career Experience Support Network (Kkumgil) website, searching for career experience places, or by contacting the education manager for consultation and application.
