Creating 'Flower Paths' for the New Spring in Guro-gu's Anyangcheon and Dorimcheon Areas
Planting of 9 Species Including Canola Flowers, Zinnias, Petunias, Kochia, and Lavender at 11 Riverside Flower Beds Along Anyangcheon, Dorimcheon, and Mokgamcheon
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] "A festival of spring flowers unfolds throughout Guro-gu!"
Guro-gu is creating 'flower paths' along major local rivers such as Anyangcheon to comfort residents exhausted from COVID-19.
A Guro-gu official stated, "We are sowing spring flower seeds along the riverbanks of Anyangcheon, Dorimcheon, and Mokgamcheon to bring joy to residents visiting these areas," adding, "We plan to complete the work by mid-next month, ahead of the full blooming season," on the 10th.
The flowers being planted include nine species: rape flowers, zinnias, snapdragons, petunias, kochia, saxifrage, lavender, poppies, and cornflowers. These varieties were selected for their popularity among residents.
Guro-gu will carry out land leveling, sowing, and planting work targeting a total of 11 flower beds (covering 32,400㎡), including the Anyangcheon Ecological Flower Garden.
Additionally, marigolds, geraniums, and hydrangeas will be newly planted in about 30 flower beds and pots located at the district office, Guro Station, and along major local roads.
Remaining seeds after the work will be distributed to each community service center to create flower beds throughout the neighborhoods.
