Gwangyang City Promotes Fire Safety Facility Support Project for Rural Lodgings
Support for Fire Safety Facilities at 70 Rural Homestays
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City announced on the 9th that it will promote the ‘Safe Leisure Rural Homestay Fire Safety Facility Enhancement Project’ with a budget of 35 million KRW for 70 rural homestay locations.
The Rural Homestay Fire Safety Facility Enhancement Project is a program that supports up to 1 million KRW per location (70% subsidy, 30% self-payment) due to strengthened fire safety facility standards for rural homestays following related law revisions. It supports costs for basic facilities such as ▲fire extinguishers ▲standalone smoke detectors ▲simple evacuation devices, safety facilities such as ▲carbon monoxide detectors ▲gas leak detectors, and from this year, COVID-19 prevention ▲contactless thermometers included in the project.
The city plans to improve the fire safety environment of rural homestays so that tourists visiting the countryside can fully enjoy the comfort found only in rural areas, escaping from their tiring daily lives.
Additionally, the city will inspect rural homestay facilities and guide homestay operators to comply with mandatory obligations, such as subscribing to disaster liability insurance by June 8, creating a rural homestay environment where anyone can travel comfortably.
