Gwangyang-si Operates Forest Welfare Program in Response to COVID-19
Starting Tomorrow: Forest Healing and Woodcraft Experience Programs to be Held
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City announced on the 8th that starting tomorrow, it will operate various forest welfare programs for citizens exhausted from COVID-19.
The main programs include ▲Forest Healing ▲Woodcraft Experience ▲Forest Interpretation, and they will be conducted in small groups of fewer than 10 people to prevent COVID-19 infection.
For the forest healing program, seven experiential programs such as ‘Han-geol音 Du-geol音, Ssa-mok Ssa-mok, Da-bok Da-bok, Oreuk Naeri-reuk, Yeou Yeonolja’ and four customized programs including Happiness Filling, Leisure Dream, Full of Sunshine, and Joyful Prenatal Care will be operated.
These programs provide participants with relaxation and happiness by slowly walking step by step along forest trails, followed by foot baths and a cup of tea at the end, resulting in high satisfaction.
Last year, it was selected as the best program at the ‘Jeonnam Province Forest Healing Program Competition.’
The participation fee is 5,000 KRW per person, and Gwangyang citizens can use it at a 50% discounted rate of 2,500 KRW.
The Wood Culture Experience Center operates age-specific customized programs such as ‘I am a Ttukttakttuk Magic Carpenter’ and various crafting programs for making items like ‘Owl Clock, Train, Storage Box, Bookshelf.’
The participation fee varies by program but averages around 2,000 KRW, and materials costs must be borne separately by participants.
The forest interpretation program is conducted as a course touring the ecological forest area with a forest interpreter, and a forest program for young children targeting kindergartens and students is also operated.
Citizens wishing to use the forest welfare programs must make reservations in advance via the website or phone, contacting Baegunsan Healing Forest, Gwangyang Wood Culture Experience Center, or Forest Interpretation & Young Children’s Forest.
