Dobong-gu Recruits Participants for 'Everyday Village and Autonomy Education' to Foster Community Growth
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) will operate the ‘Everyday Village and Autonomy Education’ from March to November for local residents to expand their understanding of village communities and their capacity for village projects, laying the foundation to grow as local leaders.
This program is based on the broad theme of everyday ‘village and autonomy’ and consists of programs designed to increase understanding of the villages they live in and interest in village communities. It is composed of four topics: ▲Understanding Village Communities ▲Understanding Resident Autonomy ▲Democratic Meeting Techniques ▲Climate Change (Green New Deal).
Each lecture lasts 120 minutes per subject and is conducted as a small group class with about 10 participants. Any Dobong-gu resident interested in villages can apply.
If you have completed the Everyday Village Autonomy Education, you will be given preference when applying for Dobong-gu village community public projects, so this is worth noting.
The education will be held every Tuesday from March 16 at the Dobong-gu Social Economy Support Center.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting March 10.
Those wishing to enroll can apply by phone or email (70orial@dobong.go.kr), and the tuition is free.
According to a Dobong-gu official, considering the COVID-19 situation during the education period, the curriculum will be operated flexibly. If conducted face-to-face, it will take place at the Dobong-gu Social Economy Support Center; if group classes are difficult, it will be replaced by online lectures. So far, it is planned to operate as small group classes, but depending on circumstances, it may switch to online lectures in connection with the Seoul Lifelong Education Portal, and in such cases, students will be notified separately.
