Two Pfizer Vaccination Nurses Confirmed Positive... "No Link to Vaccine"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] Two nurses at the National Medical Center (NMC) who received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine tested positive for COVID-19. The National Medical Center stated that this infection is not related to the vaccine.
According to the National Medical Center on the 7th, two nurses working in the new Ward 7, which accommodates mild COVID-19 patients, were infected with COVID-19 after receiving the Pfizer vaccine on the 28th of last month.
The first nurse who tested positive reported fever symptoms on the 5th of this month, underwent a COVID-19 test, and was confirmed positive on the 6th. Subsequently, after conducting a full investigation of about 40 staff members working in Ward 7, one additional nurse tested positive.
The medical center believes that the infection link was the night shift the two nurses worked together on the 1st of this month. The center quarantined about 40 individuals subject to full testing, including six members of the same night shift team, and closed Ward 7. Eight mild COVID-19 patients in the ward were transferred to other wards.

Jung Ki-hyun, director of the National Medical Center, said, "There is no connection between this infection and the vaccine. It takes at least two weeks for antibodies to form. Even during the vaccination process, exposure to COVID-19 can lead to infection."
