Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin Scheduled to Receive AstraZeneca Vaccine Injection
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Daegu City announced on the 7th that Mayor Kwon Young-jin will receive the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine at 11 a.m. on the 8th at Jung-gu Health Center.
Mayor Kwon was classified as a first responder to COVID-19 along with about 2,000 people including the local disaster safety and quarantine headquarters, 119 ambulance teams, and personnel transporting and testing overseas arrivals.
In Daegu, about 20 paramedics at Dalseo-gu Health Center began vaccination with the AstraZeneca vaccine on the same day, starting the vaccination of first responders.

Mayor Kwon said, "I will set an example by getting vaccinated and show citizens that the vaccine is safe." He underwent surgery last November after early diagnosis of stomach cancer. The AstraZeneca vaccine is administered twice at an 8-week interval.
