LGD-Disney Joint Marketing for OLED TVs Using Movie Scenes
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] LG Display has teamed up with the world's largest entertainment company, Walt Disney, to promote OLED TVs.
The two companies announced on the 7th that they will jointly promote the superior picture quality and eye health benefits of OLED TVs to Walt Disney fans worldwide, coinciding with the release of the new animated film "Raya and the Last Dragon."
They produced a separate promotional video for OLED TVs using key scenes from the movie and released it on YouTube. The 30-second video emphasizes that OLED TVs emit less harmful blue light and have no flicker, making them the most eye-friendly TVs. This film is the first from Walt Disney to be released simultaneously in offline theaters and on the online streaming service "Disney Plus," demanding the optimal TV for movie viewing.
On the 4th local time, Walt Disney also conducted segments such as character drawing using OLED TVs during the online live broadcast of the movie release event.
Lisa Cavello, Walt Disney Studio Marketing Manager who hosted the event, praised, "Eye health is truly important when watching content," adding, "OLED TVs provide the best viewing experience for the whole family and show colors most accurately as intended by the creators."
This joint promotion is part of the "Eye Love OLED" campaign, which has been ongoing since last year after signing a strategic partnership with "Disney Studio Lab" for OLED technology collaboration.
Oh Changho, Vice President and Head of LG Display's TV Business Division, said, "Through cooperation with Walt Disney, which creates globally beloved content, we will continue to promote the excellence of OLED."
