Kim Young-jong, Jongno-gu Mayor, Reports Smooth Progress on 7th Term Election Promises
Among the current 86 pledge projects, 67 have been completed or are being continuously promoted after implementation, and the remaining 19 are also in progress... Since the launch of the 7th local government, the resident policy evaluation group 'Jongno Sarang87' has been selected, actively reflecting residents' opinions throughout the entire project process.
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jongno-gu (District Mayor Kim Young-jong) is transparently disclosing related information on the district office website to efficiently promote and manage major policy projects, including the promises made during the 7th local government term, together with residents.
The main contents include the overall status, promise fulfillment status, evaluation, and budget of the 7th local government term’s pledge projects.
In particular, the promise fulfillment status is prepared in the form of management cards, and to help residents understand, status maps and related photo materials are also attached and updated quarterly.
If you wish to view this information, you can access the ‘Manifesto (7th local government pledges)’ section on the district office website.
According to the promise fulfillment status disclosed on the website as of the 4th quarter of 2020, out of 86 pledge projects, 67 have been completed or are continuing after fulfillment. The remaining 19 projects, such as ‘Pilwundaero Pedestrian Environment Improvement,’ are also progressing normally.
Additionally, with the launch of the 7th local government term, Jongno-gu selected the resident policy evaluation group ‘Jongno Sarang 87’ to actively reflect residents’ opinions in district administration.
‘Jongno Sarang 87’ is named after the fact that Jongno-gu has 87 legal neighborhoods (beopjeong-dong).
The 87 resident evaluators selected through open recruitment participate directly from the establishment to the promotion and evaluation stages of pledge projects. Besides the face-to-face evaluation conducted once a year, they communicate directly with the district through online evaluations that can be easily participated in without time and place constraints.
After all evaluations, they freely submit opinions not only on pledge projects but also on other projects carried out by the district. The general department collects these opinions, has the responsible departments review them, and goes through a feedback process to respond to the evaluation group.
In this way, the district fully discloses and communicates all processes from project planning to completion to residents and creates policies together.
Starting this year, the district plans to devise ways for not only the resident policy evaluation group representing residents but also ordinary residents to easily participate in project evaluations.
