Imsil-gun Cuts Traditional Market Store Rent by Half
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 4th that it will reduce 50% of the store usage fees at three locations?Imsil, Gwanchon, and Gangjin markets?from this month until August, following last year’s policy.
Accordingly, merchants in these markets will receive a reduction of approximately 12 million won in store usage fees.
Previously, the county implemented a 50% reduction for three months last year to alleviate the economic burden on merchants.
Additionally, to revitalize the local economy severely contracted due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the county launched mobile gift certificates, offered a 10% discount on Imsil Love Gift Certificates, and promoted increased purchases.
This measure by the county is expected to ease the economic burden on market merchants, overcome the local economic downturn caused by COVID-19, and revitalize traditional markets.

County Governor Shim Min said, “We halved the usage fees to share the pain of local merchants who were directly hit by the impact of COVID-19,” adding, “We will do our best to provide administration that works together with residents by preparing various policies that can be felt firsthand.”
