Yeongcheon-si Celebrates 40th Anniversary of City Status with 'Historical Records Collection' Contest Exhibition
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Yeongcheon City in Gyeongbuk announced on the 4th that it will hold a contest to collect historical records of Yeongcheon for the entire nation until April 9th in celebration of the 40th anniversary of its city status.
The contest targets all types of records related to Yeongcheon that have preservation value. These include records related to the city's elevation to city status, establishment and administration, records showing changes in major local terrain and landmarks, and materials related to key figures and organizations.
Yeongcheon City will award prize money ranging from 100,000 KRW to a maximum of 1,000,000 KRW to the winners. Donors other than the winners will also receive commemorative gifts.

A Yeongcheon City official stated, "The records collected through this contest will be well preserved and managed as Yeongcheon's historical records, and will be utilized and shared internally and externally as knowledge information resources. Even minor records can become part of Yeongcheon's history, so we hope for much interest and participation."
