Gyeongnam Province Intensifies Safety Management for Steep Slopes Ahead of Thawing Season
Strengthening Safety Inspection Expertise through Joint Inspections with Participation of Private Experts
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do is putting all efforts into safety management by identifying and strengthening inspections of risk factors such as landslides and collapses on steep slopes as the thawing season begins.
Gyeongnam Province is conducting safety inspections on 2,368 steep slope locations within the province from the 22nd of last month until April 16.
Additionally, during the pre-rainy season and summer countermeasure period (April 16 to October 15), they plan to prioritize the prevention of human and property damage through surveillance activities and operate a response system.
In particular, to alleviate residents' concerns caused by landslides on steep slopes due to last summer's heavy rains and typhoons, this year inspections will be conducted jointly not only with general safety inspection contractors but also with the 'Korea Steep Slope Safety Association.'
