LG Electronics Introduces Voice Manual and Braille Stickers for Visually Impaired on Tromm WashTower
"Expansion to LG Home Appliances Including Robot Vacuum Cleaners and Dishwashers"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] LG Electronics announced on the 4th that it will introduce voice manuals and Braille stickers for the visually impaired across its home appliances, starting with the Tromm WashTower all-in-one washer-dryer.
The recently introduced voice manual for the Tromm WashTower all-in-one washer-dryer for the visually impaired explains how users can easily imagine the direction to open the door, the location of the control panel and buttons by touching the product directly, and guides sounds for different operating situations such as pressing the power button or selecting washing/drying options.
This voice manual is applied to the voice service for the visually impaired jointly operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Korea Disabled Consumer Union, allowing anyone to use it through the Seoul Consumer Goods Information Plaza smartphone application (app) or website.
LG Electronics and the Korea Disabled Consumer Union plan to expand the operation of voice manuals and Braille stickers to LG Electronics home appliances in general, including the CordZero M9 ThinQ mop robot vacuum cleaner and Dios dishwasher steam, in addition to the Tromm WashTower. In April last year, LG Electronics and the Korea Disabled Consumer Union signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to produce manuals for the visually impaired targeting LG home appliances.

Along with the voice manual, LG Electronics also provides Braille stickers so that visually impaired users can read the product control panel. By attaching Braille stickers to the front panel of the Tromm WashTower control panel, users can check the location of buttons such as power, washing/drying courses, and options in Braille. The Korea Disabled Consumer Union provides these stickers free of charge to customers who apply.
