Geumcheon-gu Supports Professional Design Development for Small and Medium Enterprises
Supporting the entire product design development process through collaboration with design specialists... Expanding support to 15 companies this year to overcome business difficulties... Submit application documents via email by March 31
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is recruiting participating companies for the ‘2021 Small and Medium Business Design Development Support Project’ until March 31 to enhance the product value of local small and medium enterprises and strengthen corporate competitiveness.
This project is being promoted in connection with the Design-Driven Manufacturing Innovation Support Project of the Korea Institute of Design Promotion (KIDP). In January last year, the district signed a ‘Business Agreement for Small and Medium Business Design Development Support Project’ with KIDP.
Through this project, the district plans to support 15 local small and medium enterprises that have insufficient use of design in product development by linking them with specialized design companies to provide professional design development processes.
This year, to overcome the business contraction caused by COVID-19, the support target has been expanded from 10 companies last year to 15 companies.
From April to December this year, the district will utilize the facilities of the Product Development Support Center (DKworks) of KIDP to jointly support the entire design development process, including design consulting and product promotion.
Companies wishing to participate can download the application form from the notice board on the Geumcheon-gu website, fill it out, and submit it along with the required documents to the KIDP DKworks email (dkworks@kidp.or.kr).
In addition, this call for applications is also recruiting design specialized companies and consultants who will carry out the development tasks, as well as companies wishing to receive design development support.
Detailed information can be found in the announcement.
Meanwhile, last year, the district supported design development for 10 local small and medium enterprises, including electric strollers, blood collection devices, and mask packaging, and held an exhibition of the design development results at the district office at the end of the year.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We will closely cooperate with the Korea Institute of Design Promotion to help local small and medium enterprises facing management difficulties strengthen their competitiveness in product design development.”
