On the 2nd, Oh held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office and stated, "To win this battle, a sincere unification with Ahn Cheol-soo, the leader of the People’s Party, and a candidate who can attract a solid centrist vote in the general election must emerge."
Oh emphasized that he is a 'warm conservative.' He said, "Since entering politics, I have consistently upheld the values of warm conservatism, reformist conservatism, and practical center-right that embraces the nation's security and citizens' lives rather than division and political strife. Over the past 10 years, through trials and failures, I have become stronger and more flexible, steadily building policies and visions for the future of Korea and Seoul without rest."
He continued, "To overcome the crisis and turmoil before us, above all, an experienced leader who can take command of Seoul from the first day of inauguration is needed. I believe that many Seoul citizens choosing me as number one in the last preliminary election was an expression of such trust and expectation." Oh served as Seoul mayor from 2006 to 2011.
Oh also said, "This Seoul mayoral election is a critical opportunity to stop the reckless left-wing activist regime that has destroyed democracy, the rule of law, the national economy, and the lives of the people through incompetence and irresponsibility, which we have never experienced before. If we hand over the capital Seoul to them again, it would be an irreparable sin before the people and history, not only for our party but for the entire opposition."
