Police Detain Woman in Her 20s for Crashing into Utility Pole While Driving Under the Influence
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A woman in her 20s was booked by the police for hitting a utility pole while driving under the influence.
Seoul Songpa Police Station announced on the 2nd that they have booked and are investigating Ms. A on charges of violating the Special Act on the Treatment of Traffic Accidents.
Ms. A is accused of hitting and damaging a utility pole while driving on a road near Hanyang Park in Songpa-dong, Songpa-gu, at 5:04 a.m. that day, carrying three passengers including a man in his 20s. At the time of the accident, Ms. A's blood alcohol concentration was reportedly at the license suspension level.
Two passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. No power outage damage occurred due to the accident.

The police are investigating whether the passengers are complicit in aiding drunk driving and are also looking into the exact circumstances of the accident.
