Yangsan-si Holds Commemorative Ceremony for the 102nd Anniversary of the March 1st Movement

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 2nd that it held a memorial service at the Yangsan Anti-Japanese Independence Movement Monument to honor the noble spirit of the patriotic martyrs and independence activists on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the March 1st Movement.
Considering the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the memorial service was attended by a minimum of about 30 people, including the mayor, members of the National Assembly, provincial and city council members, the Liberation Association, Ulsan Veterans Affairs Office, and the Yangsan Anti-Japanese Independence Movement Memorial Association.
The city provided the highest honors to ensure that there was no neglect in honoring the families of independence patriots, elevating their honor and pride, and commemorating the spirits of the patriotic martyrs and national heroes who sacrificed themselves nobly for the country.

Mayor Kim Il-kwon said, “Although the March 1st Movement reenactment event, which received great response through citizens' participation, was canceled due to COVID-19, we decided to proceed with the March 1st memorial service to carry on the patriotic spirit. We will continue to ensure that the patriotic spirit of our ancestors is faithfully passed down to future generations.”
