Samsung Card to Launch PLCC with KakaoPay in May
Plans to Offer Benefits Specialized for KakaoPay Payments Including KakaoPay Points
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Samsung Card announced on the 2nd that it plans to launch a private label credit card (PLCC) in collaboration with Kakao Pay in May.
The PLCC from Samsung Card and Kakao Pay will offer benefits specialized for 'Kakao Pay Points.' Users can receive more benefits when using Kakao's major services such as Kakao Pay payment service, gifting, taxi, Melon, and webtoons.
Kakao Pay payments are available across all Kakao services as well as at approximately 600,000 various online and offline merchants. Additionally, Kakao Pay Points are points accumulated when using Kakao Pay and can be used instead of cash for online payments, enhancing payment convenience and versatility.
Meanwhile, Samsung Card and Kakao Pay have been working together to improve customer payment convenience, including being the first in the industry to link their applications' (apps) payment systems in January last year. Since last year, the two companies have been closely collaborating throughout the entire process, including developing PLCC benefits and designs and planning promotions to captivate users.
