Up to 10 Billion Won Support for Weapon System Upgrades

[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter]The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) is recruiting new projects for the 2021 Weapon System Modification Development Support Program.
According to DAPA on the 2nd, this program supports the modification of weapon systems with export potential, providing up to 10 billion KRW over three years, covering up to 75% of the total project cost for selected projects.
DAPA stated that priority is given to small and venture companies, and additional points are awarded to large and medium-sized enterprises when they form a consortium with small and venture companies. Since 2014, 70% of the 68 selected projects have been submitted by small and venture companies.

The announcement for new support projects under the Weapon System Modification Development Support Program this year can be found on the DAPA and Defense Technology Quality Institute websites. Applications will be accepted until the 23rd of next month, with final selections scheduled for July.
