View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Gyeongsangnam-do is recruiting and selecting the ‘2021 University Entrance Scholarship Students’ to provide opportunities for children in the province to focus on their studies and to nurture outstanding local talents.
The scholarship fund totals 500 million KRW, with 2 million KRW awarded to each of 250 students.
High school graduates in the province whose guardians have resided in the province for more than one year as of the announcement date are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Academic requirements include an average grade within the top 3 ranks in 2 out of 3 subjects (Korean, English, Math) in the CSAT, or an average grade within the top 3 ranks in 3 out of 4 subjects (Korean, English, Math, Social Studies/Science) in the first semester of the 3rd year’s school records.
Income screening criteria require applicants to be children from low-income families or underprivileged groups in the province, having received support from the 2020 Low-Income Children Education Support Project (Yeomin Dongnak Card) or meeting the legal low-income standards.
The scholarship is intended to support a stable university life and is provided as living expenses, unlike other scholarships, and multiple benefits can be received simultaneously.
Applications can be submitted from March 8 to 26 at the nearest Eup, Myeon, or Dong community service centers. Detailed information on the application and selection of scholarship students can be found in the announcement posted on the websites of the province and city/county.
