13 Confirmed Cases at One-Room Gathering in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul... Many Visitors Are Elderly
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] A COVID-19 cluster infection occurred at a one-room apartment gathering in Guui 1-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, prompting health authorities to conduct epidemiological investigations and contact tracing.
According to Gwangjin-gu on the 28th, since the first confirmed case among visitors to the one-room apartment on the 25th, a total of 13 people have tested positive so far. Most of the visitors were elderly people aged 60 and above, and it was found that they gathered as acquaintances in the one-room apartment.
Specifically, on the day after the first confirmed case was identified, the 26th, six visitors tested positive, and four secondary infection cases among family members were confirmed. On the 27th, two more visitors were additionally confirmed positive.
The health authorities suspect that this gathering violated the administrative order banning private gatherings of five or more people, and plan to impose administrative measures such as fines based on the investigation results.
