Terminator to Be Released as an Animation
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] The science fiction (SF) movie Terminator, which depicts a battle with robots from the future, is being made into an animation.
Netflix in the United States, which holds the rights to the Terminator franchise, announced on the 26th (local time) through major foreign media that Skydance will produce the movie 'Terminator' as an animated series.
The animated version of Terminator will be produced by Mattson Tomlin, who wrote the screenplay for the action movie 'Project Power' released by Netflix last year and the DC movie 'The Batman' currently in production.
Tomlin said, "I am honored that Netflix and Skydance have given me the opportunity to approach Terminator in a way that breaks conventions, overturns expectations, and has real guts."
The production will be handled by the Japanese animation studio 'Production I.G', known for masterpieces such as 'Ghost in the Shell', 'Eden of the East', and 'Guilty Crown'.
