On this day, to promote the development and revitalization of rural areas, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs signed an MOU, toured the public rental housing complex and the interior of the houses with attendees, and had time to converse with the residents.
The complex consists of a total of 12 units, including 10 multi-child units for families transferring from Seoha Elementary School, and 2 units for low-income families residing in the county and for returnees to farming and rural areas. Reflecting the characteristics of rural areas, it features zero-energy specialized design and mini gardens for each household to enable natural experiences. Community facilities such as a children's library, shared kitchen, and multipurpose room are also established.
Seoha Elementary School was once on the verge of closure, but through the efforts of residents, it was reborn as a new cultural space called a 'residential platform.' According to Hamyang-gun, the number of students at Seoha Elementary School, which was about ten, has increased, and residents from other areas have applied to move to Hamyang-gun, revitalizing the region.
Seo Chun-soo, Mayor of Hamyang-gun, emphasized, "The 'Rural Utopia' project, which started for the first time nationwide in our Hamyang-gun, can be a cornerstone for the win-win development of cities and rural areas, as well as for revitalizing declining rural areas and regenerating them into sustainable rural communities."
