Lee Jae-myung on the Passage of the Gadeokdo New Airport Special Act: "Roh Moo-hyun's Dream Realized Under Moon Jae-in Government"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, highly praised the passage of the 'Gadeokdo New Airport Special Act' through the National Assembly on the 26th, calling it a thrilling moment as former President Roh Moo-hyun's dream is being realized under the Moon Jae-in administration.
Through Twitter on the same day, Governor Lee said, "We have taken one step closer to fulfilling the wishes of 8 million people in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong)," adding, "It is a thrilling moment as former President Roh Moo-hyun's dream is coming true under the Moon Jae-in government."
He continued, "I look forward to the day when Gadeokdo New Airport will be born as a 'world-class logistics hub' and a symbol of national balanced development."
Earlier, the National Assembly passed the Gadeokdo New Airport Special Act on the same day.

The special act includes provisions for ▲clarifying Gadeokdo as the location ▲exemption from preliminary feasibility study ▲simplification of prior feasibility study ▲stipulating the grounds for scrapping the Gimhae New Airport ▲development projects around the new airport area ▲preferential treatment for local companies and reduction of burden charges ▲formation of a task force for the new airport construction, among other measures to expedite the new airport project.
