View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Heeyoon Kim] The Korea Venture Business Association announced on the 25th that it has appointed Kang Sam-gwon, CEO of Point Mobile Co., Ltd., as its 10th president at the regular general meeting.
Considering the COVID-19 situation, the Korea Venture Business Association held an online regular general meeting with minimal attendance in the association's main conference room, followed by the inauguration ceremony for the new president Kang.
President Kang stated upon inauguration, "I will strive to create the world's best venture ecosystem," adding, "We will stably operate the privately-led venture verification system and actively respond to regulatory issues in new industry areas such as telemedicine."
He continued, "The association will play the role of 'the private sector's venture ecosystem hub,' including strengthening the effectiveness of tax benefits for venture companies," emphasizing his commitment.
The Korea Venture Business Association also announced its business plans and directions for this year. The detailed strategic tasks selected include ▲ Leading an innovative venture ecosystem ▲ Strengthening venture company capabilities ▲ Fostering a startup culture and raising social awareness ▲ Enhancing member services and networks.
Kim Sun-oh, CEO of Geumseong Bolt Industry Co., Ltd., was appointed as the senior vice president of the Korea Venture Business Association.

President Kang was born in 1966, graduated from Wonkwang University with a degree in Electronic Engineering, and founded Point Mobile Co., Ltd. in 2006, which manufactures industrial PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants), where he currently serves as CEO. The company was listed on the KOSDAQ market last year. Prior to his appointment as president, Kang actively served as an executive of the association and received the Presidential Citation last year for his contributions to promoting venture startups.
