"Responsibility for Business Slump" Jo Young-je, Head of Lotte Shopping E-commerce Division, Resigns
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Lotte Group's integrated online mall Lotte ON has reached a situation where its head steps down due to poor performance.
On the 25th, Lotte Group announced that Cho Young-je, head of Lotte Shopping's e-commerce division, expressed his intention to resign taking responsibility for the business downturn.
After joining Lotte Department Store in 1990, Cho served as Marketing Team 1 Leader, Bundang Store Manager, EC Executive and Planning Division Head, and Lotte Holdings Management Strategy Team 2 Leader. Since becoming head of Lotte Shopping's e-commerce division in January last year, he has led businesses including the integrated online mall Lotte ON.
However, it was evaluated that the service failed to provide stable delivery and did not gain consumer favor. There were also criticisms that the synergy effect of Lotte ON did not meet expectations.
