Baehongdong is Nongshim's secret weapon, stepping ahead in the competition of the summer ramen market worth 140 billion KRW annually.
A Nongshim official stated, "After about a year of researchers and marketers visiting bibim noodles specialty restaurants nationwide, we completed a product that captivates the taste buds of the entire nation," emphasizing, "In particular, the core of Baehongdong's development lies in the bibim sauce."
Through market research, Nongshim determined that consumers' purchase point for bibimmyun is the 'delicious bibim sauce.' Baehongdong features a unique bibim sauce made by grinding and fermenting pear, red chili pepper, and dongchimi. The red chili pepper provides a clean spiciness, pear and onion add sweetness, and dongchimi contributes coolness and tanginess. The sauce quantity is also 20% more than other bibimmyun products. The product name was derived from the first letters of the three main ingredients.
