Incheon City Distributes 1,700 Electric Two-Wheelers... Provides Up to 3.3 Million KRW Subsidy
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon City announced on the 24th that it will supply 1,700 electric two-wheelers this year to improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
This is 2.5 times the amount compared to the previous year, and applications will be accepted from the 4th of next month through the Ministry of Environment's Low Emission Vehicle Integrated Website (www.ev.or.kr).
The city plans to provide differentiated support considering the type, scale, and performance of electric two-wheelers: KRW 1.5 million for light vehicles, KRW 2.6 million for small vehicles, KRW 2.9 million for medium vehicles, and KRW 3.3 million for large and other types. An additional KRW 200,000 will be provided when purchasing after scrapping an existing internal combustion engine two-wheeler.
The supported vehicle models are limited to electric two-wheelers certified and announced by the Ministry of Environment.
Eligibility for electric two-wheeler purchase applications includes individuals aged 16 or older who have resided in Incheon City for more than 30 days or have registered their business office there, as well as business owners, corporations, and public institutions.

When an applicant signs a purchase contract with an electric two-wheeler manufacturer or seller, only electric two-wheelers that can be shipped within two months from the manufacturer or seller can submit a purchase support application form to the Ministry of Environment's Low Emission Vehicle Integrated Website, and Incheon City grants purchase application eligibility.
