[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] On the morning of the 24th, a large truck carrying AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccines consigned and produced at the SK Bioscience factory in Andong, Gyeongbuk, departed from the factory
The AZ vaccines, shipped from the factory around 10:30 a.m. that day, will be transported to a logistics center in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, under police escort. About 100 personnel, including special forces and riot police, will be deployed to support the vaccine transportation operation.
The quantity shipped that day is 300,000 doses (one dose is one vaccination amount), enough to vaccinate 150,000 people. This is one-fifth of the approximately 750,000 doses (1.5 million shots) of AstraZeneca vaccines consigned for production at SK Bioscience in Andong.
