Damyang-gun to Begin COVID-19 Vaccination Starting from the 26th
Vaccination Starts with Inpatients and Staff under 65 at Nursing Hospitals and Care Facilities
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang County, Jeollanam-do announced on the 23rd that it will begin COVID-19 vaccination from the 26th to secure herd immunity that can protect the lives and health of residents through safe inoculation.
The vaccinations will be conducted at 27 commissioned medical institutions and the vaccination center located at Damyang Culture Hall.
According to the government's COVID-19 vaccination implementation guidelines, vaccinations will start promptly according to the vaccine supply schedule, beginning with about 1,450 people under the age of 65, including inpatients, residents, and workers at 8 nursing hospitals and 12 nursing facilities.
For nursing hospitals, vaccinations will be administered internally, while nursing facilities will proceed through contracted attending physicians; if there are fewer than 10 people or internal vaccination is difficult, the public health center will conduct the vaccinations.
During vaccination, an ambulance will be on standby for emergency transport in case of adverse reactions, and designation of emergency medical institutions has been completed.
Additionally, from the 8th of next month, vaccinations will be administered to healthcare workers at high-risk medical institutions (Damyang Sarang Hospital), and from March 22, vaccinations will be given to first responders such as 119 paramedics, quarantine, epidemiological investigation, testing personnel, and public health center staff.
In preparation for COVID-19 vaccination, a public-private consultative body has been formed, led by the vice county governor and including 12 members from 9 organizations such as the medical association and related agencies. The vaccination center at Damyang Culture Hall is also being thoroughly prepared to be fully operational from the second half of the year.
