The drill was organized to comprehensively check all stages including preparation, waiting, fever check, medical questionnaire completion, medical examination, vaccination administration, and post-vaccination observation, assuming a vaccination situation within a nursing facility. Participants included Gwangju City, Nam-gu Public Health Center, Nambu Fire Station, and Nambu Police.
In particular, the drill included the operation of a hotline to prepare for severe adverse reactions after vaccination that may occur during the vaccination process.
Gwangju City will begin COVID-19 vaccinations on the 26th. The target group consists of 10,956 residents and workers at 148 nursing hospitals and nursing facilities, among whom 10,351 (94.5%) who consented to vaccination will receive the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Nursing and psychiatric hospitals will conduct vaccinations internally, while nursing facilities will have vaccinations administered either by commissioned medical institutions or public health center teams through visits or by having recipients visit the public health center.
Additionally, elderly people aged 65 and over, who are excluded from this AstraZeneca vaccination target group, will be considered for vaccination after reviewing additional clinical results.
