Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service Posts Industrial Accident Cases on Website... Free Use for All Citizens
Lower Court Rulings Also Disclosed, Playing a Decisive Role in Lawsuit Decisions
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] From now on, the public will be able to easily access industrial accident case information.
On the 23rd, the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service announced that it will launch the 'Industrial Accident Case Information Web Service' starting on the 24th.
The Service will provide approximately 29,000 industrial accident court rulings free of charge. In particular, it will offer lower court rulings, which play a decisive role in determining whether to file a lawsuit.
Previously, these rulings could be checked on the Supreme Court's comprehensive legal information site, but only a limited number of industrial accident rulings were disclosed, and lower court rulings were rarely made public. Additionally, a fee of 1,000 KRW per case had to be paid.
The Service plans to introduce a 'facet search' function. Facet search refers to a feature that provides detailed search results based on conditions such as medical care, leave, disability, and survivors.
About 2,000 new rulings created annually will be continuously uploaded.
Kang Soonhee, the director, said, "We hope that the Industrial Accident Case Information Web Service will contribute to protecting citizens' rights and reducing social costs," adding, "The Service will fulfill its responsibility and mission as a leading institution in public information disclosure."
