Deputy Prime Minister Yoo Eun-hye Visits Gwangju Ildong Elementary School to Check New Semester Preparations

According to the Ministry of Education and Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education on the 22nd, Deputy Minister Yoo visited Ildong Elementary School at 10:30 a.m. that day to inspect the preparation status for the new semester curriculum operation and held a meeting to listen to the opinions of school field officials.
Deputy Minister Yoo, along with Gwangju Superintendent of Education Jang Hwi-guk, toured the school’s health room, cafeteria, first-grade classrooms, and after-school care rooms to hear about the curriculum plans and checked the overall preparation status for the school opening.
In particular, she held a one-hour meeting with school officials and carefully checked the demands of frontline schools.
During the meeting, topics such as activation of interactive classes, support for quarantine personnel and supplies, measures to resolve educational gaps, and emotional support due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic were discussed.

Deputy Minister Yoo said, “I am grateful to the teachers, parents, and students at the Gwangju Office of Education and schools who have worked hard to continue our children’s learning by combining remote and in-person classes during the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis over the past year,” and added, “To prepare for the new semester, the Ministry of Education will spare no support not only for quarantine assistance but also for flexible academic operations tailored to each school. I ask that you do your best to ensure that no child is left behind in education at the school sites.”
