A Magnitude 2.2 Earthquake Occurred Northwest of Yeonggwang, Jeonnam
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] At 9:03 AM on the 21st, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.2 occurred 27 km northwest off the coast of Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the epicenter was at 35.47 degrees north latitude and 126.34 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 18 km.
The instrumental intensity was up to 2 in Gwangju, Jeollanam-do, and Jeonbuk. An instrumental intensity of 2 means only a few people on upper floors of buildings or those in quiet conditions can feel it.
