View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Nahana] The story of an Indonesian boy, once known as the "world's fattest boy," who lost about 110kg has been revealed.
According to the British media outlet The Sun on the 19th (local time), Ariya Permana (14), a boy from Karawang, West Java, Indonesia, weighed about 110 to 130kg more just one year ago when he was 13 years old.
Feeling a health crisis, Permana restructured his diet to include fruits and vegetables over several years with the help of a fitness trainer and engaged in high-intensity exercise daily, running more than 5km every day.
He also underwent stomach reduction surgery to lose weight. The gastrectomy was performed free of charge through fundraising efforts by people who wanted to help him, and about 70% of his stomach was removed.
As a result, Permana lost about 110kg in three years.

He recalled, "When I was eating a lot, I used to eat six instant noodles every day along with soda and chicken."
Due to his past eating habits, he became pathologically obese, and his indoor bathroom could not accommodate his size, so he had to shower outdoors. He also became short of breath after walking just over 5 meters and could not attend school, so he was homeschooled.

He added, "If he wanted sweet or fattening food, we would cook it for him immediately." Permana's parents, who were financially struggling, even took out loans to cover his food expenses due to his large appetite.
Meanwhile, after finishing exams this year, Permana plans to undergo additional surgery to remove excess skin caused by his intense diet.
His father said, "Even though his body is already strong from exercising and playing soccer and badminton, the loose skin is hanging, so it must be removed."
