[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Clubs in the Gangnam area of Seoul that violated COVID-19 quarantine rules and operated without permits were caught in a large-scale police crackdown.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 21st, the police conducted a joint inspection on the early morning of the 20th along with Seoul city and district authorities, targeting clubs in Gangnam-gu and Seocho-gu for violations of quarantine rules and illegal activities at unlicensed entertainment establishments.
As a result of the inspection, seven clubs that violated quarantine rules, such as failing to maintain social distancing, were caught. These clubs are expected to face administrative penalties including fines.
