Gimhae-si Recruits 200 Vehicles for Carbon Point Program Participation... Incentives on a First-Come, First-Served Basis
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on the 19th that it will recruit the first 200 vehicles to participate in the automobile Carbon Point System.
The Carbon Point System is a greenhouse gas reduction practice program that compares the average daily mileage at the time of the driver's participation application with the average daily mileage during the participation period, and provides incentives of up to 100,000 KRW based on the performance if it contributes to reducing greenhouse gases.
Eligible participants are owners of non-commercial passenger cars or vans with 12 seats or fewer registered in Gimhae City. Eco-friendly vehicles such as electric, hydrogen, and hybrid cars are excluded from recruitment.
Applications will be accepted starting from the 25th. Applicants must sign up as members under the vehicle owner's name on the automobile Carbon Point System website and then apply. Only one vehicle per household based on the address can participate.
Last year, 98 vehicles applied, reducing 26 tons of greenhouse gases. Incentives totaling 4.5 million KRW were paid.
