[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jeong] The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (Minister Kim Gang-rip) will hold a meeting of the 'COVID-19 Vaccine Safety and Effectiveness Verification Advisory Committee' for the Korea Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine (product name Comirnaty) on the 22nd, and will disclose the results on the 23rd.
Comirnaty is a messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine jointly developed by Pfizer in the United States and BioNTech in Germany. It applied for product approval to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on the 25th of last month and is currently under review.
