Imsil-gun Completes Unam and Unjeong Sewage Treatment Plants with 5.6 Billion Won Investment
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 18th that it has completed and is operating the Unam and Unjeong sewage treatment plants last month to treat various domestic wastewater generated from households around Okjeongho Lake.
The Unam and Unjeong sewage treatment plants were built with a project cost of 5.6 billion KRW, completing 5.1 km of sewage pipelines and drainage facilities in six villages including Singi, Unam-myeon, and are stably treating 160 tons of sewage per day.
The county is hygienically and efficiently treating and discharging domestic wastewater generated from commercial establishments and houses around Okjeongho Lake through the smooth operation of the Unam and Unjeong sewage treatment plants.
As a result, it is contributing to the preservation of the clear water of Okjeongho Lake and creating a pleasant living environment by improving residents' health and hygiene.

County Governor Shim Min said, “By operating the sewage treatment plants, we expect to contribute to the improvement of Okjeongho water quality, which will help establish a Comuseum and ecological tourism in the Seomjin River,” and added, “We will strive to minimize odors generated during the maintenance of the sewage treatment plants to create a pleasant living environment.”
